Heritage Inspiration

This shirt is inspired from the incredible ‘Desert Festival’ of Jaisalmer. The print is a contemporary revival of motifs of ‘Pabuji ki Phad’, which are traditionally large, beautifully hand-drawn, and hand-painted folk art textiles used as a backdrop mural for warrior performances by “bhopas” (folk singers) during the festival.
Pabuji Retro Print
Each phad narrates a story about the bravery and sacrifices of ‘Pabuji’ who was a great warrior chieftain and folk hero. Ancestral phads are passed from father to son and used over three or four generations.
